What a fabulous place to stay. The views are lovely, and various paths through the grounds provide a very nice setting. All staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I have to say that the evening dining staff in particular were hands down the best service team I have ever encountered, and I've eaten out a few times! They were completely professional, efficient, very welcoming, and really went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable. Really lovely people, and extremely well trained. Will stay longer next time.

A Majestic Stay with Unforgettable Hospitality. The Stonefield Castle Hotel in Tarbet is an absolute must for anyone seeking an authentic, tranquil, and truly memorable Scottish escape. While the setting is undeniably magnificent—a genuine castle estate overlooking the sparkling waters of Loch Fyne—it is the people who work here that elevate the experience from great to exceptional. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was genuinely warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. Whether it was the cheerful greeting at reception, the helpful recommendations from the dining room team, or the effortless efficiency of the housekeeping crew, the "very nice staff" are the heart of this hotel. They possess that rare combination of professional service and heartfelt Scottish charm, making us feel instantly at home and thoroughly cared for throughout our stay. Of course, the views are simply breathtaking. Waking up to the mist lifting over Loch Fyne, framed by the castle's historic architecture and manicured gardens, felt like stepping into a fairytale. Every window offers a new, postcard-worthy panorama. We spent hours simply gazing out at the water and the surrounding hills. If you are looking for a place where history, luxury, stunning scenery, and genuinely fantastic people meet, look no further than Stonefield Castle. We highly recommend it and can't wait to return, see you there

The bedrooms are a little basic. Clean and have all the amenities. The downstairs rooms are elegant and definitely give off the feeling of being in an old building, but not really castle atmosphere. I felt the prices were reasonable, a little high but reasonable, and overall we had a very enjoyable stay. Just nothing to write home about.

I chose an economy room, which has a great view of what they call over the Loch! I am hoping to tour the property tomorrow and other high-end rooms. Dinner was fabulous, tomorrow morning breakfast! The entire experience so far is a wonderful experience of local art, every shared room from the library, entrance, stairs, lounge, and restaurant.

Lovely picturesque castle hotel set in amazing scenery with elevated views over Loch Fyne and fantastic walks through the grounds with waterfalls, beaches and woodland as a backdrop. Add in first class hospitality, food and drink and you have a hidden gem. I was celebrating a significant birthday and they couldn't have done anymore to make it a special experience for me. Thank you for an amazing break.

From the moment you leave the main road, you realise you’re going somewhere special. I need to say that my views are possibly greatly enhanced by the Christmas theme currently at this beautiful place. Nevertheless I would definitely come back regardless of the season. We crossed the most impressive entrance to be greeted in the most friendly way, and that welcome never changed at any time. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The standard of the room and facilities within were excellent, but the setting and “ styling “ of the interior was fantastic, a massive congratulations to whoever was doing that. I can’t really say anymore than we absolutely loved everything about this place, would recommend that you come and experience it for yourself….. regardless of how far you travel ( we drove approximately 3 hours) it is absolutely worth it. Hopefully you get a feel for it from the pictures

Great hotel! Real period building set in interesting grounds full of Rhododendrons and mature trees. Great for birds. Staff are attentive, polite and professional. Nice bar with good selection of drinks, inc whiskeys. Dining room has lovely vista out over the loch. Food was delicious, although menu a bit limited. Excellent breakfasts. Dog friendly in the truest sense - the staff enjoy having the dogs too! Rooms comfortable, clean, well furnished and welcoming. Some lovely day rooms with fires and comfy chairs. You really feel like you are living it up!
